Composed by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Contemporary. 3 pages. David Warin Solomons #2029831. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576010).

Comic song about a naughty dog, based on a poem by Mary Holtby (permission obtained from the copyright holder). (The poem is, in turn, a parody of TS Eliot's Macavity the mystery cat) The sound sample is a performance by the composer. A video can be seen at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLXg78wzhR0 This can be sung by contralto or countertenor, but a countertenor will find it easier to reach the occasional comical bass note phrases. (A contralto could simply go into speaking voice at those points if required) The music has also been arranged for bassoon and guitar (McQuiddity for bassoon and guitar) and a more extensive arrangement for organ solo, under the title My Quiddity.

This product was created by a member of ArrangeMe, Hal Leonard’s global self-publishing community of independent composers, arrangers, and songwriters. ArrangeMe allows for the publication of unique arrangements of both popular titles and original compositions from a wide variety of voices and backgrounds.
