May You Always Have a Song

May You Always Have a Song

May You Always Have a Song composed by Sally K. Albrecht and Jay Althouse. Choir Secular. SATB choir. Choral Octavo. Choral Designs. Graduation; Secular. Choral Octavo. 8 pages. Published by Alfred Music (AP.21203).

"May your life be filled with song. And may your friends all sing along." These two simple sentences begin the heartfelt text of this lovely choral ballad. The melodies are equally beautiful in their simplicity. Easy piano accompaniment and conventional vocal writing make this piece an excellent choice for any concert. Use it as a concert closer throughout the year; by spring it will be a meaningful work for your graduating students.

  • January 25, 2008 So nice, not too hard. Good for anyone.

I sang this song several times in my young choir group. I am among the oldest members, and this song works well for the youngest members, who are around six or seven, and the oldest members enjoy singing it. It's nice, not too fast, and provides an excellent message...

, especially to end a concert with. Simple, but not boring.

  • April 22, 2007 Such a touching song

We sang this song for my 8th grade graduation (so it was obviously a beginning piece). It was so touching and I still remember all the lyrics to it.
