  • March 19, 2012 Great for beginners' guitar class

I've been using this book for several years in a beginners' guitar class that I teach at the local Community College. My class is designed with the assumption that my students have had no prior exposure to formal music instruction, and no experience on guitar. I structure all of...

my lessons on this premise, and I strive to give my students a broad and shallow (rather than a narrow, deep) exposure to various styles of play, as well as some music theory and history as applicable. Though no single book or method can perfectly fill this requirement, for an 8 to 10 week class situation, this book works very well for me.
