I would say this book would be for an older student. It does not waste time with funny cartoons and silly games. The lessons are well explained and they are followed by student assignments, reviews and tests. I bought the whole series to use in my piano instruction studio and...

After spending several months completing this book for my high-school music theory class, I recommend this series to music teachers with large classes of unexceptional students, but not to very many other people. This specific book spends 30 pages, half of which are laborious-to-fill-out lessons, to...

teach the student nothing more than how to harmonize using the I, IV, and V7 chords. If you're a dedicated student looking for a way to teach yourself, spend about a few days hanging around with professional musicians and you'll learn twice as much as you would by spending a month or two on this book.
