Composed by Susan Conant. Contemporary. Score and parts. 11 pages. Susan Conant #2009415. Published by Susan Conant (A0.797069).

Begins with an ethereal combination of bent tones and impressionistic chords, this engaging, meditative music was inspired by the salt water marshes of the Carolina Lowcountry. The piano ostinato represents the constancy of the marsh grass and substrate while the flute plays a melody of varying tone colors representing the changing light of dawn, daytime and dusk on the marsh. Conant writes music that blends classical, jazz and Celtic music in an accessible, fun to play format. Great for recitals, concerts and church services. Marsh Song is the first movement of Conant's Lowcountry Suite.
