If you don't mind simplified arrangements, this course is one of the better middle C methods. It uses an interval approach to note reading. It trains the student to recognize patterns as an aid to memorization. There is a good mix of contrapuntal writing and traditional chordal pieces. This...

course is much better than the older Schaum Piano Course. The authors are continually revising the method based on their experience in using the course at the Schaum school. Each revision incorporates more of the principles research has shown to be effective in teaching students. The upper levels of the course do have some teaching issues. The authors do not differentiate between the various historical styles in teaching ornaments; in particular, a Scarlatti Sonata is used to teach "inverted mordents," when that symbol in Scarlatti's time represents a trill. I personally like the course for supplemental work, favoring the Noona courses for my primary method.
