This bitter-themed Christmas Carol is set for 'a capella' SATB choir - perhaps most effectively for a good chamber choir of one or two voices a part - but it also works with larger numbers. The harmonies are sometimes stark but the work is tonal. The voices may be doubled by an organ if required. This is a setting that is to be performed as part of a Christmas Carol concert or church service and so will form a poignant focal point. (NB - the accompanying soundfile is based on computer sampled voices only and is intended to give a very basic impression of the nature of the piece).
