    Difficulty Level:
  • December 11, 2008 Nice Rutter for Small/Beginning Choirs

I like Rutter's choral works, but found the more popular ones to be beyond my church choir. This is a very approachable Rutter piece for small choirs or beginning choirs. The repeated Chorus alternating with the melody makes learning quicker with the repetition, but the end result sounds impressive...

. The typical Rutter accompaniment fills out the piece. There are a few tricky intervals in the tune and parts which made me list the piece as intermediate. We did this for our Thanksgiving church service and it was a crowd pleaser. And, I only had a choir of 12.

This has been easy for our Junior Choir to learn, and is a useful piece for many occasions. Good for the adults, too!

  • September 04, 2007 Choral Review

An excellent arrangement that works for either a junior all female choir or SATB. The chorus is best sung without breathe breaks until the last line of the chorus to ensure smoothness.

  • August 26, 2007 Absolutely Beautiful

This song is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard, or for that matter performed in Middle School Choir, and it was amazing to perform, and to hear. This song, when all parts are performed, is absolutely amazing. Definitely one of the most powerful experiences of my...

life. It's chilling how beautiful it is. I loved every secnond of it.

    Difficulty Level:
  • April 20, 2007 Good Choice for Earth Day

John wrote it to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Council for the Protection of Rural England. It fares well here in the USA as an Earth Day piece. It can be performed in a "pop" style, if you're inclined.
