I would recommend this book for any beginner guitarist who is a fan of Metallica. The CD is awesome; it helped me learn the "Fade to Black" solo, which I could have never imagined I would be able to play. BUY IT!!

it's a good book but you don't get the whole songs and some songs don't match with the official tab books. not really worth the price if you are a hardcore metallica fan but it is very good for beginners.

When i first got this book i thought it was awesome. The CD is a great help too for the solos. But when i tried to learn the whole song...i found that little parts were left out. So therefore, you don't even get the whole song. So now...

i'm thinking it's not that great of a book... The missing parts were in Master of Puppets, Fade to Black and Seek and Destroy...that's what i've found in 2 days so far.

  • April 11, 2002 Will make you better!

This is the best transcription of music I have yet to see. Even if you're not much of a Metallica fan, the riffs from their early work are a must learn - great sounding, and will indeed advance your skill. As far as difficulty goes, it is hard to rate...

because you can learn some of the easier riffs, play the more challenging fast riffs, or you can attempt to enter the Kirk solo zone, so there really is something for every difficulty level here. The CD is a great bonus to an already solid package, and includes slowed down versions of the solos and some riffs.

alright... when i bought this book i already knew how to play most of the things on it, but still this book continues to amaze me. the cd alone is worth the 20 bucks simply because you can channel out the guitar and play along with the music. this book...

will only make you better. also on the cd there are tracks that slow down the really fast parts so you can follow along using the book and work your way up to the correct speed. No matter what level you play on, this book will help you perfect your skills. Plus.. this is OLD SCHOOL METALLICA!!! how can you go wrong?
