This work brings you to the edge in the first movement (the wailing of the women being Jeremiah's lamentations). It floats you back again in the second movement, almost as if a funeral is passing. The third movement is a liquid canon, where the lines are passed from voice...

to voice to voice, building to such heights. It ends in an aggressive wall of sound so beautiful that shivers will run down your spine in the audience and the singers themselves are brought nearly to tears with the power of their music. It is beyond incredible. Far and away the most remarkable piece I've sung or heard in my life.

This is one of the most amazing choral pieces i have ever heard. I have not been fortunate to sing it myself, but have heard a recording made by the World Youth Choir in '98 and it is incredible! Greetings R.PITOUT(WYC member'00,01)
