Clarinet, Clarinet Quintet - Advanced Intermediate
Composed by Gustav Holst (1874-1934). Arranged by Rotem Weinberg. 20th Century, Romantic Period. Set of Parts. 15 pages. Published by Rotem Weinberg (S0.18248).

Item Number: S0.18248

Jupiter, the beloved movement from Holst's "The Planets", is arranged here for the advanced clarinet quintet. The arrangement includes the whole movement, not abridged or shortened, and is interesting for all parts!. The outer sections are energetic, lively and rhythmic, while the middle section is a beautiful, lyrical, 'choral like' melody with lush harmonies. Great as a concert opener or as a brilliant finale! * Score is available on a separate page* If you purchased and liked the arrangement, please write a review on the website.

Not only do I doubt the playability of this arrangement, but the overall quality of the engraving is very poor. Too many notes smashed onto a line, colliding everywhere, no page turns. Impractical trills and tremolos, and even the word "Jupiter" is spelled incorrectly at the top of every (non...

-first) page. And no score, to boot.

There is no score, Jupiter is spelled incorrectly on the top of all the pages. Aside from that, there are so many things that are impossible to play in this piece, I cannot imagine playing it. Tremolos in the high altissimo (G to A), and tremolos from the 3rd octave...

into the 2nd octave are difficult if not impossible. Overall engraving quality is poor, with notes and slurs colliding with text and symbols throughout. Would not recommend.
