Sacred, Christmas.

From the rollicking fun of We Wish You A Merry Christmas to the gentle hush of Still, Still Still, this versatile collection offers fresh harmonies and creative settings of carol favorites. Piano students, teachers, congregations, and listeners in any setting will be touched by the interesting (and sometimes jazzy) harmonies and unexpected progressions that are a hallmark of this noted composer's style. This is one of those rare sequels that in every way equals the first volume (70/1101L). Both collections will add great pleasure to any pianist's library.

I really like this unusual book of Christmas piano arrangements, mostly because it so much different from the other hundred-something books in my Xmas collection. Most of the pieces go through at least 2 modulations, making this collection not well-suited for many singers (there are no words), and...

the chord progressions are off the charted course sailing for waters unknown, but with delightful results. The overall flavor of the music is contemporary Christian. One of the best arrangements you'll find of "March of the Kings" is in this book.
