This DVD is cracking! You have to go back a couple of times to fully understand everything but I recommend you have an accurate tab while learning each song because I got lost a couple of times with Danny when was going through even simple things such as melody a...

tab book for everything he did for this dvd and the other dvd's he does would have made a heck of a difference on understanding what is being played and how. If you have a good grasp of your major and minor scales you cant go really go wrong.

  • 2007-09-19 00:00:00.0 Great DVD - buy it!

Really great tuition DVD. If you want to learn these Satriani tracks then this is by far the best tutorial avaiable. Danny Gill is a superb tutor, ultra clear and 100% helpful on every single note & phrase. Yes it's true there's no TAB/notation, but very few tutorial...

DVD's include that nowadays. However, everything is shown in clear close-up detail & Danny plays through each phrase carefully & slowly explaining every single note, so it's really easy enough for anyone to follow. All tracks are played note-for-note from start to finish & nothing is omitted. What more could you pssibly want?

  • 2007-05-08 00:00:00.0 Good but lacks alot

I think it's ridiculous how it doesn't have at least an online tab page from Cherry Lane. This should include a tab booklet because it's a pain having to hit rewind over and over just to see which position he was playing on. It might be "play...

it like it is" but there's only a handfull of intructional dvds that are "not" exactly how it's played and they have the tab booklet at least.

  • 2005-12-02 00:00:00.0 I was Impressed..Learn Songs in hours...

I was impressed with this DVD. I'd recommend you know how to arpeggiate and it takes practice. THis is not for beginner whats so ever. If you are intermediate the songs will come fairly easily. Some of the things explained aren't full though. Like on Satch Boogie for...

instance he leaves out the walk down the neck to a harmonic. But little things. Also, i found myself rewinding the DVD many times to look at what he's doing. Gill slows down all the riffs and does everything note for note. This will improve on speed and technique the rest you'll have to find out yourself.
