  • December 15, 2009 great secular jazz type arrangements

The arranegments are not difficult, yet they possess a rich sound. I have not played in a jazz style before. I find this style some what challenging to achieve, yet addictive. These arrangements are very enjoyable on my Yamaha C3; however, I would not really like them that much if...

I were to be playing them on the older Kimball upright which I played for years.

Did these other people get the same book I did? Usually in one book I can find at least one or two songs worth playing. Not so with this one. Unless you like deliberately dissonant arrangements that sound nothing like the original, stay away from this thing. I plan to...

    use it to wrap fish.

  • January 14, 2009 A pleasant surprise

I play for a number of holiday parties, and was eager for some new music. This book was a delightful surprise. I was able to sightread most of the arrangements and they sound quite sophisticated. A welcome addition to your holiday repertoire. I would be very interested in any other...

    collections by this arranger.

  • January 08, 2009 Some good, some so-so

I was pleasantly surprised to see Snowfall in this book, and I enjoyed the arrangement. Overall, however, I was disappointed with many of the others in this book. I rather liked the earlier Phillip Keveren offering Christmas Impressions. You'll find some of the same carols offered in this older...

book and I personally like the arrangements in Impressions over this.

  • December 11, 2008 Keveren does it again!

I really enjoy Philip Keveren's books and this is no exception. By far the best secular Christmas music book I own. The jazz styles are easy on the ears and fingers.
