Composed by John Hatton, Ludwig Van Beethoven and Carl G. Glaser. Arranged by G. R. Adkison. Christian,Sacred. Score. 4 pages. Gary Ray Adkison #14167. Published by Gary Ray Adkison (A0.953724).

"Jesus" Our Joy" is a 56 measure, 4-5 octave handbell music arrangement. It is a medley of the Christian hymns: "Jesus Shall Reign", "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee", and "O For a Thousand Tongues To Sing". The unifying theme of the of the medley is the joy that Jesus brings in the Christian's life. The whole arrangement is upbeat, until the last verse of "O For a Thousand Tongues To Sing", which is marked maestoso, starts at double forte and ends at triple forte. The only special techniques used are tolls (swings) and a shake on the last note. There are descant lines and frequent bass note runs, and the chords used are more interesting than in the original versions of these hymns. Because of the bass runs, I think that this arrangement is probably a level 2+ (2 plus) degree of difficulty.
