  • October 02, 2003 Jeff Buckley is an angel...

Little difficult to transcribe Jeff Buckley songs because he plays with such feel and passion each time. I never heard a Jeff Buckley live song sound the same. Yes you can transcribe his songs, but flaws will result because of Jeff Buckley's undeniable talent and genius to be creative...

and improvise. One of the most talented musicians I have ever heard. I get goosebumps everytime i hear him. Tablature could never capture the essence of his music. I feel bad playing his music too because i believe noone can capture his aura, let alone his angelic voice....

  • December 20, 2002 Book Undermines Jeffs Abilities

I've been learning to play Jeff’s songs for a while. I've learned some of them by tabs and watching videos of him, and some of these tabs are wrong! (Please acknowledge that I am being really hard on this author!) It seems whoever worked on these tabs...

was in a hurry to complete it because she/he didn't tab most of the second/third guitar work. They simplified the rhythm in most songs (One example: 'So Real' is in 4/4 then 3/4, she/he puts 4/4 and poorly justifies it (Haven’t You Heard is another train wreck)). She/he left out notes (Example: Grace, So Real, Mojo Pin (Try putting your pinkie down and hear the difference)), and some parts he wouldn't even tab out (Example: Chorus for "I know We Could Be So Happy Baby" she/he left parts blank). Also if your looking foreword to playing 'Vancouver' she/he he tabbed it out as one guitar completely destroying the voicing and harmonic effect. p.s. Feel free to e-mail me for corrections in the book! dcbeaulieu@bigfoot.k12.wi.us

  • November 30, 2002 Jeff Buckley rocks.

Jeff Buckley is one of the most talented guitarists out there and I'm sad that he has been cut short of the success that he would have achieved.
