  • December 04, 2010 fabulous tracks!

I teach voice and this is one of my favorite books! The background tracks are the best that I've come across. REAL INSTRUMENTS! I wish there were more- please make more of these books!! I bought the Christmas standards which was also good but not as good as this...

one. Only complaint, they are very low!! VERY! But it comes with the nifty tool to change speed and pitch, however I can't seem to find a way to record the changed version to put it on a cd for performances.

  • June 26, 2008 Amazing

These are superb backings and are fabulous to use for performance and audition pieces. Great for lower voice ranges. When auditioning with this book all the panel went out and purchased it after they heard the song.

  • June 06, 2008 Sing with a great backup band!

I've been a working vocalist and percussionist for many years and I found Jazz Standards an exteremely useful process (sheet music and CD) for working on and peforming these tunes..invaluable! I used to practice improv and scatting with Music Minus One records in the old days, but with...

computers and CD players it's way easier and better to use for vocals and scat singing. I give it a TEN!

The music was written to low for a female voice. The music was also too slow and i felt like it was dragging on. If you sing in an alto range, you still might find this too low.
