This hardy perennial remains one of the most popular selections in the Carl Fischer catalog, a zestful delight. The simple modal elements of the piece circulate from voice to voice and coupled with the lively jazz-inflected accompaniment for 3 Trumpets, String Bass and Bongos, create a piece whose popularity is undiminished after 30 years in print. The re-engraved original SATB version is joined by versions for SAB and 2-part Treble voices, expertly prepared by Greg Gilpin.

  • December 27, 2007 The kids LOVED this piece!

The audience loved this piece, too. It sounds wonderful, exciting, challenging!! The audience was amazed that my choir of grades 1-12 kids could do this, and do it so well. That's what's so amazing about this piece. It was actually relatively easy for all age groups to...

    learn.

  • December 27, 2006 All the parts sound amazing!

We sung this with a middle school encore group(selective chior) and it sounded fantastic. All the parts put together with the addition of a string bass just amazed me and all the different audiences we performed for. We had fun, hope you will too.

I used the ssa arrangement for an elementary choir. It was wonderful. Great rhythm. The kids and audience loved it. The instrumental acompanyment arrangment (bass/drums) was also great.
