  • August 29, 2014 my favorite book

I absolutely love this book. Its my favorite. Its my go to book when i want to get a workout on my flute. If i don't practice for a while and then play this book, my mind and my fingers are not able to keep up with some of...

the songs. I have had this book for over five years now and i still can not master the last song in this book, Yard bird Suite, by Charlie Parker. I can not get through this song without fumbling. If you love jazz and know how to get down on your flute, this is a must have.

  • January 11, 2012 nice book, but not for jazz beginners

I had a student who really wanted to play jazz, so I bought this book. She loves it, but it's very hard for her as a first encounter with jazz and improvising

  • December 10, 2008 one of my favorites

I love this book! I even tried to write to the flutist! I wish they would give you some hints on how to do the jazz embellishments on flute, though. Or a way to write with questions..I don't know how anyone can rate this as beginner, there are...

some hard runs in here. I wish I could find more for flute that have the track to listen to and learn, and then take it out and fly on your own, like this one does. This is definitely one of my favorites.

Playing anything improves all. My son is learning and Ive played since ~~ well, a long time. We have a ball playing together and gives him a challenge. He loves it.

  • July 13, 2008 Not So Good

I got this book to get me moving in to Jazz, and I have to say I was disappointed. The songs are a lot harder then they seem and the play along CD only has one version of the songs. It is always good to hear how it is supposed...

to sound, especially being new to Jazz, and this CD doesn't help you. Overall I was disappointed.
