This book is very useful in giving us an insight into what was going on in Jaco's head when he approached playing bass. It covers a variety of songs he played on throughout his career and covers many bands he played with. However it does not give the full...

tracks which is very disappointing, with only Portrait of Tracy as a complete song. The cd with the playing sounds atrocious in my opinion, and it sounds more like a robot then a human playing. It just does not capture Jaco's nuances whatsover. Disregard the cd and hunt out the actual tracks. The actual transcriptions themselves are not perfect either. If you are looking for Jaco transcriptions of a lot of his pieces and a varied amount i do not recommend this book as it does not give you the full trancriptions. Again the cd is terrible, so if you do get it disregard it. It does however give us better understanding of Jaco's playing but overall a disappointing title.
