The intradas here are very attractive. These very attractive intradas are taken from Hasslers Lustgarten, Neuer Tcutschcr Gcsang, Balletti, Gagliarden und Intraden, mit 4, 5, 6 und 8 Stimmen, which appeared in Nurnberg in 1601. This collection consists mostly of strophic songs of a fairly simple kind: among them is the beautiful Mcin Gmuth ist mir verwirret (printed in TM26), which later became a much-used Lutheran chorale (Bach used it with the text "O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden). The intradas are quite similar to others from this period by Alexander Orologio (LPM GM3/4), Valentin Haussmann (TM62), Christoph Demantius (TM17) etc., though Hasslers are slightly less "instrumental" than some, and use slow-moving pavane-like sections rather more.
