    Hollywood, FL
    Difficulty Level:
  • July 10, 2007 Honegger's Intrada for Trumpet and Piano

This has become a standard repertoire piece for trumpet recitals. It's written for trumpet in Ut (C). While not extremely difficult technically, it's very challenging in the areas of flexibility and endurance, with wide interval leaps and lengthy passages with few rests. The range is from low G...

(g1) up to high C (c3). There's a bit of triple tonguing before the reprise of the opening fanfare, but not much. All in all, it's a jaunty little French classic, which will showcase your tone, range and musicianship. Any serious trumpeter should know the Inrada.

    Difficulty Level:
  • June 12, 2007 Difficult but briliant

A very very difficult but impressive piece. Must be a great thing if you can play it brilliantly. The accompaniment is quite easy - except that the pianist'd better have long fingers. One of my favourite trumpet solo pieces!

    Difficulty Level:
  • January 06, 2002 A Fine Piece......

I like most everything Honegger has composed, including this fine, well-conceived work for trumpet & piano. It's somewhat challenging, but the effort is well worth it.
