    Difficulty Level:
  • December 29, 2007 And now for something different.

I have books and books on instruction for guitar. This one has a style all it's own. Kevin Dillard approaches scales and modes in a creative and fresh perspective. He has a way of explaining why things work that seems to make sense even for a DORK like me...

. The examples are fun to play, yet they require continued practice to master. This book has already improved my perspective on modes, theory and playing in the few days I have worked with this book. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to improve the transition from idea to melodic expression. Glad I bought it.
