Some spirituals have been arranged so often that one asks, "Can the world possibly need another?" Check out this score for solo and SSAATTBB voices and you'll undoubtedly echo our resounding yes! Another great one for high school or college choruses.

    Hampton, VA
    Difficulty Level:
  • September 05, 2007 Fresh Approach

This young composer/arranger decided to begin with a choral accompaniment under the solo with mostly half notes. To transition to the second and third verses, he cuts the time in half but adds syncopation, harmonic changes, and rhythmic drive to move the song in a place this spiritual has...

never been. Although the rhythms are quite easy, the lines in each voice move in ways that are truly fun to sing. This song is sure to wow your audience.
