  • November 07, 2009 Nothing boring here!

I am so thrilled, as usual, to receive this music today. The Violin 1 part is suitable for late beginners and early intermediates with no shifting. More experienced players should really be able to play these pieces well, with swelling dynamics and developed vibratos. The Violin 2 part, although not...

difficult, at times requires 3rd position which a more experienced, albeit less showy, solid 1st violinist player should be able to handle well. If you have not listened to the music samples, do so. Latham music arrangements have consistently brought enthusiastic comments from my audiences. People are always commenting on how much they enjoyed the actual arrangements whenever I use Latham music arrangements, and my players also enjoy the movement/flow in the pieces. It's not your average, boring orchestration of Christmas music. There is much to enjoy and discover rhythmically and tonally that will keep you from burning out on Christmas music.

  • December 20, 2008 Great book!

Fairly simple, but beautiful duets! I especially liked the two arrangements with pizzicato. My sister and I have played many of Catherine McMichael's hymn arrangements for church. I hope she writes more!
