Great book. Very useful. Dona Nobis Pachem was particularly beautiful. We used the cello part which worked and did not seem too far from the 1st violin part, despite being transposed an octave lower than the 2nd violin score. I thought some of the pieces were a little short, but...

that could be useful for some purposes. A repeat with coda might have been occasionally useful. Overall, I would recommend it.

  • May 02, 2010 Without a doubt a winner!

My group is using this series to build our church and bereavement repertoire. The arrangements (especially first violin) are easy, yet the arrangements sound complicated and give quite a wow factor. There are a few positions (mostly in the 2nd part), but if your students are having trouble, black it...

in an octave down and have your more experienced crew shine on the upper notes. Strong support is needed in the 2nd violin section, as the 2nd part really makes the music. These arrangements will leave your audience breathless and thinking that your group is more talented than it otherwise is.

  • March 05, 2009 Wonderful!

I bought 4 of the books and I can't be more pleased. The arrangements are beautiful as solo pieces, duets, or with an entire ensemble.

  • November 20, 2008 Very nice

My daughter and I performed "All Things Bright and Beautiful" recently on two violins with piano. Mostly 1st position with a little third. The arrangement is beautiful and full. A big plus to these arrangements is that they can be played with other instrument combinations. My other daughter plays cello...

, and since the book comes with a cello part that can replace one violin part, the girls can perform these pieces together as well. Double duty! Piano is optional, but really adds.
