An instrumental descant always enlivens the singing of hymns, and this volume promises practicality, variety and well-crafted countermelodies to do just that. Included in this spiral-bound compendium are descants for 85 hymn tunes cross referenced to 314 hymn titles found in the standard hymnals of today's church. Although designed with the timbre and range of the trumpet in mind, each descant is presented in both concert and B-flat pitches (and often multiple keys) and is suitable for most treble instruments.
