The book supplements the DVD's. It's a encyclopedia of fiddle techniques. All the goodies are in the DVD's. It breaks down each technique and how to do it. It's excellent! "The Devil went down to Georgia" and "Liberty"is broken down, walked through and shown in...

a basic and hot version. The techniques are the gold. From what beginners can use to the most advanced you can find. You'll never see hokum bowing dissected like this. Or the flavors of "Boil the Cabbage Down" presented. Mary Ann Harbar gives you everything to become an awesome fiddler. Some of her other books are Dirt Simple Fiddle, Mel Bays Fiddling Method grade 1 and 2, Fiddling around the World, etc. Her teaching is short and to the point. She packs a ton of info in the DVD's. Definitely a must have for anyone who fiddles.

This is not fiddle music. It is boring and extremely simplified. Even beginners would have no trouble with this music. The review is very misleading.

This is a terrific book, and the DVD is peerless in terms of being organized so that the student can get the most out of it. Some of the technique stuff will be difficult for students who don't already have some knowledge of the fundamentals, but for more advanced...

musicians, this is a terrific book and DVD.
