SKU: A0.559326

Composed by Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck. Arranged by Lisa Ochoco. Christmas,Renaissance,Sacred. 31 pages. Lisa L Ochoco #34083. Published by Lisa L Ochoco (A0.559326).

Hodie Christus Natus Est translates to "Today, Christ is born." Of all the "Hodie's" that I know of, this one is my absolute favorite.

The original motet was written for 5 voices. This transcription for flute choir has 9 voices. Optional Flute 5 and 6 parts were created to give the piece fullness, as they are exactly the same as Flute 1 and 2 parts, but an octave lower. The alto and bass parts share a lot the same notes also, to help give the piece a solid "bottom". The contrabass shares music with the bass. That said, this piece can be played with only 5 parts, but it sounds great with 9.

This piece will help make your Christmas concert a very festive one!

Scored for 6 C, alto, bass, and contrabass flutes.

Duration: 3 minutes
