The title character of this darkly comic off-Broadway hit, the winner of two Obie Awards and an Outer Critics Circle Award, is transsexual singer Hedwig, and the Angry Inch refers both to her back-up rock band, and her botched sex change operation. Our songbook features standard piano/vocal arrangements of 11 great songs, ranging from rocking to touching. Includes Angry Inch, Hedwig's Lament, Tear Me Down and more.

  • October 08, 2007 Great Rock Musical!

The music and lyrics are a great part of this rock musical. And this book certainly helps if you want to play/sing the music. But you'll want to be sure and get a CD of the movie soundtrack or the play cast recording too. The transcription has some...

mistaken accidentals, at least as compared to the movie soundtrack. Another common annoyance: the lyrics for verses after verse 1 are frequently printed at the end of the song in an "Additional Lyrics" section instead of being printed as part of the music.

  • June 11, 2007 Extremely helpful

In mounting a production of Hedwig, this book was extremely helpful in learning the keyboard and even the bass parts, even more so than the official scores that came with the rights to the show. Many of the songs just don't sound right on piano alone, but the book...

is a perfect guide to learning to play them with a full band.
