  • March 05, 2009 A book that doesn't talk down

An excellent transcription of the songs from his new album. Randy Newman is known as a great songwriter, but his piano playing is often overlooked. This book (and the other Randy Newman sheet music books - the 2 Anthologies are particularly recommended) doesn't talk down to the player, with rigorously...

faithful transcriptions of the songs. Some may not be accessible to the novice, but this gives you a more intimate look at some finely crafted work and nuff respect to the man's piano playing. Congratulations (mainly to Michael Roth) for an excellent book.
