This SATB anthem is a lively, bright addition to the Easter repertoire of church choirs in congregations that enjoy Handel, Haydn, Mozart and other 18th and 19th century sacred music in the "grand" style. In performance, this piece sounds more difficult than it is. At about four minutes, it's...

a bit longer than some anthems, so it does best in special services where music is a focal point. It also works well for festivals, with their large choirs and spirited conductors. This version has both German and English texts, so it can work well for school and college choirs working in different languages. After the more subdued music of Lent, this anthem is a wonderful evocation of the joy of Easter itself.
