  • March 14, 2004 Play it with feeling

Man, the head or changes aren't necesarily difficult. But if your trombones & trumpets can't triple tongue, they might have difficulty. Besides, this is a Mingus tune, which means the band needs at least a few really smokin' soloists. If you can play it, this is a really %&** song...

    to open up a set.

  • February 12, 2004 Sets the groove

Our directer passed this chart out on request expecting us not to be able to play it. The lead trumpet has Eb's and a good number of C's, not suggested if the sax's can't tonque really fast as a section, or if lead trombone player has...

    stage fright.....
