  • March 02, 2007 Great pace for K-5 crowd & aural ex.

I changed from Mel Bay 1 to the primer the moment I found it. It's great for younger students to have several pages of success on one or two strings before moving them on to chord arrangements. The CD is the icing on the cake! I love having them...

able to listen to the example while counting and clapping and singing note names before they try to play it. This becomes a daily part of practice at home that even clueless parents can reinforce. They will not be able to keep up with the CD at first, but in some cases I have sent pupils back to the first few pages after a month to show how far they have progressed. They keep up just fine and appreciate their mastery. USE THIS METHOD!
