  • August 17, 2009 Not "Dumbed Down"

After playing 40+ years, I seen a lot about this instrument. The book is good in concept, however tedious it may be. For humans, repetition is our best master. Yes, Kadmon lays out the format on purpose; not to "dumb us down" but to make the curriculuum much easier to...

perceive, contrary to authors who just leave readers hanging, with little continuity. There is much info here, digest it, review it: enrich your playing.

  • January 14, 2009 Must have

This book is a must have for any guitar player of any level. For beginners, the DVD (sold separately) is a gold mine when used with this book and is easily worth 3 months or more of theory lessons with a guitar teacher. Basically, if you don't own this...

book, do yourself a favor! And if you are starting out with scales and modes, buy the DVD as well and save yourself ALOT of trouble and time figuring these things out.

  • June 08, 2006 My First Guitar Grimoire Purchase

This book literally jumped off the shelf into my hands. Talk about a way to break writer's block - this is it! Everyone who plays finds themselves getting into some kind of rut sooner or later, but Adam Kadmon takes you places that you never thought possible in the pages...

of this well-written and easy to understand excursion into theory and performance. Chart after chart of scales and modes greet you to try and aquaint yourself with as you turn the pages of this great method book. The Scales and Modes volume will you have you playing in ways that you never dreamed of. I hesitated for a moment before I bought it and then was never sorry.
