Chord forms are provided with fingering and letters, rather than scale degrees, which I find more useful. "Chord Passages" are given without scale degrees, either - just standard notation, letters and fingering. The "Chord Substitutions" section is probably most valuable/useful. All-in-all, this is a TOUGH slog for the...

patient student, intended to develop an "ear" for the chord substitutions and transitioning sounds. I agree with the reviewer who thought that the DVD is easier than the books.

Haven't quite figured-out how this will help me. It is not a conventional approach to chord building but aims at developing the ear. Seems to be something to work on over a long period of time. A collection of ideas, interesting but not easy to follow.
