  • July 02, 2008 great gift for teens

My 14 years old son loves this book. He picked 2 songs and his music teacher recommended this book to other students.

  • January 31, 2008 Definitely a Great Buy!

This book is a must-have for Williams fans. The music faithfully follows the CD, and is not too difficult to play, though some of the songs will definitely require some practice time. A few of the songs I was slightly disappointed in, however. The Star Wars theme arrangement was...

only two pages long, and never got very big, and the Superman March seems to be a lot of the same thing over and over. However, that does not really detract from this book at all. The music from Stepmom is gorgeous, and the March from 1941 is very fun to play (though the ending is a killer!) It is also neat to see all of the music written out, so you can at least see what some of the instruments are playing. Overall, it is definitely worth a big 5 star rating. Buy it!!

  • September 20, 2007 Great book and great price!

I really like the selection of pieces available in this book. Some of them are quite easy to play which is nice when you first get the book, but others are more challenging which is also good because you have something to work on. I'm glad I finally have...

a lot of these these great melodies from the best film composer of all time.

  • March 21, 2007 Wonderful Musical Experience

It was so enjoyable hearing the music during the films and then seeing how exactly it's written out. Then the ability to be able to play it for myself was so satisfying. I especcially love "Hymn to the Fallen" from 'Saving Private Ryan'. It was a simple piece to...

play but the music is very moving. Classics like "Jurrasic Park", "ET", "Indiana Jones" and various "Star Wars" pieces are all wonderfully written by John Williams and to see them finally as notation was a thrill.

  • February 15, 2006 Hard-to-find arrangements

The best part of this book is that this is the only place to find some of the arrangements, which is a shame, because those arrangements tend to be much better than the ones in general circulation (like the Star Wars themes). The Scherzo for Motorcycle and Orchestra is one...

of the all-time great action movie cues, and the difficult arrangement here amazingly does it justice on the piano. The Reivers Main Title is also a great arrangement. One thing to note, sheetmusicplus.com does not list Flight to Neverland from "Hook" in the contents, though it is in the version of the book that I have (and again, is superbly arranged). I don't know if this is an oversight on the part of the website, or if there are different versions of the book.
