Grand Solos for Piano is Melody Bober’s first complete series of solo collections since she became an exclusive Alfred author. The music in this six-book series is written in a variety of keys, styles, meters and tempos to appeal to both children and adults. The pieces have the distinctive Bober sound and are fun to play, in addition to helping pianists progress technically and musically. Whether performed on a concert grand, a digital piano or the family upright, these solos will truly sound "grand." Book 5 contains 9 pieces for intermediate pianists. Titles: Carefree * Carnival Rag * Lakeside Morning * Music Box Memory * Night Shadows * Rush Hour Boogie * Too Cool * A Visit to Vienna * Winter in Whitman County. 24 pages.

  • May 30, 2012 Great recital pieces!

I bought this book to find a contest piece or two for my student. I was delighted to find that so many of these pieces are gems! They have a good variety of technical difficulty and musical styles. My student just loves playing the songs, especially "Too Cool" and "Carnival...

Rag." I highly recommend this book if you want some fun songs that also show off a higher intermediate skill.
