This book has only 1 blues song in it, which is what I was looking for. The title is misleading. The rest of the songs are humdrum, suitable for weepy funerals I suppose.

The members of my congration are mostly older. I also work up programs for a local rest home. These people like the old hymns and I was most impressed with Eye on the Sparrow, What a Friend and When the "Saints come marching. They are a challenge without being to...

hard. The reditions are different but the melody line does not get lost in the mix. I am sure that the "old folks" will love them as much as I have getting them ready.

A good collection. I especially love Wolover's arrangement of "His Eye is on the Sparrow." I'm a church pianist for a "traditional" service. I use Mark Hayes' arrangements extensively, but I "discovered" Wolaver at Christmas and like his jazz influence.

Gospel tunes for use at Church dinner or social hour. All are very good. The selections sound like pieces to be used for easy listening with a scone and good cup of tea.

The titles "I'm Bound for the Kingdom..." and "When the Saints Go Marching In" are fantastic! In times like these when we need to find fun, uplifting music, these pieces definitely fit the bill.
