The first thing I liked was that the piano accompaniment kept the melody, so when doing a piano solo, it is not necessary to follow the two lines (mel. & accomp). Alot of the base I play as an octave, and second time around I use broken or additional chords to...

fill in since the music is not filled in enough to stand on its own. Yet some chord changes are difficult for me. The words are what they are, me being female, were I to sing it, I'd use Beyonce's first line lyrics (see YouTube). As with any song, if one isn't comfortable with the lyrics, slight changes should be made. Hopefully I'll figure it all out by Veterans Day weekend to play after the benediction on Sunday morning. I prefer the 5 pages to contain an insert for pages 2 & 3 instead of 4 & 5 being on the back--hard to flip back and forth 3 times. Enjoy!

I found the music hard to follow and the key too high. I did not like the use of the word ain't.

I think this arrangement of the song is a good "marriage" of words and music. The words are sincere and plain, so the music should not overwhelm them. All in all, a good number for solo or chorus.
