Choir Sacred (SATB choir) - Grade 4
Arranged by Lloyd Larson. Choral (Sacred); Choral Octavo; Worship Resources. Jubilate Archive Edition. Christmas; Sacred; Spiritual; Winter. Choral Octavo. 8 pages. Published by Jubilate Music Group (AP.18347).

Item Number: AP.18347

Traditional Spiritual. Psalm 97; Titus 3:4-7; Isaiah 62:11-12; Luke 2:1-20.

Lots of fun for choir and congregation alike! A light swing style re-invigorates the refrain of this traditional spiritual, alternating with lyric verses set in rich 4-part harmonies. Layered voices and repetitive refrains make this easy to teach. Finger snaps (opt.) and a high decant crown the lively finish! Great for school holiday concerts and Christmas worship!
A cappella.

We had six in our group (1 bass, 1 tenor, 2 altos, 2 sopranos). Two were professional-level singers. The song was fairly easy to learn in a few rehearsals, but challenging enough that we weren't bored. Everyone loved the song - lots of fun to sing! Don't forget...

    the "swing" rhythm.

This piece is fairly easy to learn, but singing it acapella adds a challenge (including a key change). We had a group of 8 and we had a blast singing this. It was our favorite piece to sing on Christmas morning and the congregation enjoyed it as well. This song...

begs for applause with its great ending!
