Created for the University Singers from FSU and their performance at the 2007 National ACDA Convention, this rhythmically driving arrangement (most likely the only concert arrangement even available of this spiritual), is full of excitement and fun to perform. In this setting, Thomas pays homage to three arrangers of spirituals (William Dawson, Undine Moore and Moses Hogan) by utilizing techniques employed in their arrangements: layering of voices, contrapuntal devices and rhythmic vitality.
