Glorify the Lord

Glorify the Lord (incorporating the Doxology). Composed by Sheldon Curry. Choir Sacred. SATB choir. Choral (Sacred); Choral Octavo; Worship Resources. Church Choral Series. Sacred. 28 pages. Published by Alfred Music (AP.34844).

A Song Of Creation is taken from the prayer of praise raised by Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego while they were in the furnace. It is combined here with the Doxology to form a rousing special anthem of praise to God for the wonder of creation. There is no more exhilarating text centering on the the magnificence of our Creator-God. Sheldon Curry infuses the anthem with syncopation and rhythmic drive worthy of the celebration of God's glory. Appropriate for general worship, Earth Day or animal blessing services.
Inst. Parts Available (choral); Recorded Acc. Available.

My choir and our congregation enjoyed this piece very much when we performed it on Easter Sunday. The 'chorus part' is very catchy. Lots of syncopation to work on. I'm trying to get more contemporary music into our church and this really fit the bill. We also used the...

Instrumental Packet. I'm sure some of these folks had never seen a trap set. I 'mixed' it up a little by putting a soloist, womens unison, mens unison in different sections of the song. The Soprano Sax part is incorrect in one place, showing a whole note where 4-5 measures rest should be. Footnote: My drummer went home between services and fell asleep. Missed the second service. Not an easy song to with a band and no drummer. :)
