I know I only gave this piece three stars, but I still love it. I rate these pieces, the best being the last piece I would like to hear before I die. Ginger Marmalade is a typical Warren Benson piece, although it doesn't bite as much as The Passing...

Bell. Ultimately, it is a canon of sorts; one that made me laugh when I first heard it. The melodies in this piece are dark in color, but light and even comical in the nature of its rhythms. The overall tone of the piece is "cheesily serious," which is what makes it enjoyable. This piece works only if the band is willing to concentrate on making their entrances at the appropriate times as this piece has quite a bit of syncopation.
