These are so much fun to play, but there is some work required to figure out how to hit all the chords.

I just love all the pieces. I wish I have a bigger hands to play 5 notes chords. If your hand span reaches 9th easily, you don't have so much trouble that I have. I usually roll over my hand(lower note to the highest)to play those big...

chords. You should get it if you really want to enjoy Gershwin!

  • December 26, 2007 Great, authentic arrangements

If you're searching for arrangements of Gershwin tunes that don't sound watered down or too easy, buy this book! These are extremely thorough transcriptions of the recordings that Gershwin himself made, with the obvious result that they are very full and a bit difficult to play. (Having large...

hands will be an asset.) Definitely a necessary addition to the music of any jazz enthusiast.
