Schubert wrote these Dances from 1823-1824, when his health was already in a state of decline (four years later, he would be in his grave, at the unthinkable age of 31). Nonetheless, they are lively and charming, almost naive in character. We would judge the writing to be more or less at a low-intermediate level of difficulty.
