This is an excellent book with a very informative Forward - Gershwin as Composer; Gershwin as Pianist; Performing Gershwin's Piano Pieces and a detailed review of each song, its form by measures, and small historicals about each piece. Blue Lullaby and Three-Quarter Blues, not to mention Prelude I (1927...

) are really great treasures and wonderful to play. This is the only book I could find with the Three-Quarter Blues (aka Irish Waltz by Ira Gershwin). A definite FIVE STAR.

  • August 27, 2008 Nice Selections

The Preludes contained in this selection are worth the price and effort. These are a more relaxed Gershwin and the scores are easier to interpret for satisfying sound. Legibility is great.
