Inspired by the poem of 19th century English poet Christina Rossetti (also the author of "In the Bleak Midwinter"), Frog and Toad provides a wonderful change of pace. The frog theme is lighthearted in a major key, while the toad theme is plodding and in
Frog and Toad is a study in contrasts. The frog theme is lighthearted, quick, and in a major key, while the toad theme is plodding and in a minor key. Students will also study contrasting dynamics and articulations, and will practice changing from arco to pizzicato and back.
