SKU: JL.JLP-7449

Recorded by the Count Basie Orchestra. Edited by Rob DuBoff, Dylan Canterbury, and Jeffrey Sultanof. Arranged by Frank Foster. Range: Trumpet 1: G6; Trumpet 4: E6 (Optional B6); Trombone 1: Bb4. Swing. Full score and parts. Published by Jazz Lines Publications (JL.JLP-7449).

This brilliant Frank Foster arrangement was written for the Count Basie Orchestra and recorded live in Detroit in 1992 for their Telarc CD 'Basie's Bag.' Foster takes this 1974 Cedar Walton tune and turns it into a tour de force showcase for the band full of harmonic substitutions, rhythmic variations, and dynamic shifts. Featured are solos for a tenor saxophone soloist (originally played by Foster), trombone, and trumpet. There are no saxophone doubles, but trumpets briefly double on flugelhorns.
