  • May 15, 2014 Not what I expected

I'm very disappointed with this book. I was expecting something closer to the originals, especially introductions to the songs and key signatures. This book is not it. I broke my first rule of buying music, either be able to look at it the music or listen to the arrangements...

. I will be returning this book.

This is a good intermidiate level for me. It's always hard to find solo fingerpicking music. Glad I found this. I wish it had the words so I'd be able to follow the melody as I learn a new piece.

This is not what I expected. I was expecting arpeggios which could be used as an accompaniment for vocals. The pieces dont sound like the originals at all. For me this is a waste.

If you haven't played fingerstyle before, this might be a good place to start. The arrangements are pretty simple, not much more than what you could play just be looking at the melody and chords in a standard songbook. This is not what you're used to hearing on...

Paul Simon's songs. I have no problem with that, but this is not very interesting stuff.

  • June 25, 2008 know what you buy

mike of il obviously thought he was buying something else. For people looking for SCORES (not chords or tab) this is a scarce find as most pop song books come in either chord/tab or piano (2 clefs) form. If you can play guitar (fingerpicking and reading music as opposed...

to banging and strumming, plectrum added) this is the sort of book you will find interesting. If you are just looking for a sing along, strum, etc... your choice is better and wider elsewhere. Just one "look inside" should tell you exactly whether the book is or isn't suitable for you. do not bother with this kind of book if you have no proper musical training. On the other hand if you do have the training... You may find it easy or too advanced (!) A word of warning though... Often pop songs turned into instrumental solo music turn out to be much more difficult than expected (and.... people are a lot less tolerant with mistakes - cause they all know the pieces!!!)
